This page explains what information Talk Bridge (English speaking courses at talkbridgeaz.com) collects, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. We only collect what we need to run your classes and your account.
Information you give us
- Account details: first and last name, email address, optional phone number, the English level you choose, and your password.
- Profile details you choose to add: profile photo, username, a personal tag.
- Messages you send in Global Chat, class chats and private messages, and your homework.
- English Level Test answers, including speaking recordings and written answers.
Your password is never stored in readable form: it is handled by our authentication provider, which stores only a secure hash. Talk Bridge staff cannot see it.
Information created while you use Talk Bridge
- Your Bridge ID (a 6-digit student identifier), membership, crystals and payment history.
- Class attendance (when you joined and left a class) and your TalkBridge rank and ranking score.
- Assessment results (estimated band and CEFR level).
- Class transcripts: live classes are transcribed (an "AI notes on" notice is shown in every class). While you are in a class, what you say in the class is turned into text to prepare that class's homework and help the teacher. The audio itself is never stored; the text is visible only to administrators and is deleted after 90 days.
- Security records: sign-ins, password and two-factor changes, and denied access attempts, kept to protect accounts. Login throttling stores only anonymised (hashed) values, never your email or IP address in readable form.
- Anonymous visit statistics: which pages are opened, using a random identifier in your browser's local storage, plus your approximate location (country and city, rounded to about 10 km, worked out by our hosting provider from the connection), device type (phone, tablet or computer), operating system and browser name. While a page is open, a small signal every 30 seconds shows that it is being viewed. Your IP address, full browser details and any device fingerprint are not stored. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, no visit is recorded.
How we use it
To create and secure your account, run live classes, track crystals and attendance, process payments you make, evaluate your English Level Test, operate the community features (chat, rankings), answer your messages, and prevent abuse (spam, fraud, account takeover). We do not sell your information and do not use it for advertising.
Who can see what
- Other members can see your name, profile photo, tag, membership badge, rank and the messages you post in Global Chat and your classes. You control some of this in Settings → Privacy (showing your membership, activity, English level, appearing by name in the Global Rankings, promotion announcements).
- Talk Bridge administrators can see your account, contact details, payments, attendance, homework, assessment results and reported messages, to run the course and keep the community safe.
- Your email, phone number, payment information and receipts are never shown to other members.
- Knowing someone's Bridge ID does not give access to their account or private information.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run Talk Bridge. They process data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage.
- Vercel — website hosting and privacy-friendly visit statistics.
- 8x8 Jitsi as a Service — live video classes (your display name is shared with the video service while you are in a class).
- Cloudflare Turnstile — bot protection on login and sign-up forms.
- Resend — sending emails such as the welcome email and homework notices. Our emails record whether they were delivered, opened and whether a link was clicked, so we know they reached you.
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI that prepares homework from class topics, notes and transcripts, and scores written and spoken answers in homework and the English Level Test.
- Deepgram — turning spoken answers in the English Level Test and live classes into text.
Card payments are processed by Kapital Bank on its own secure page. Talk Bridge never receives or stores your card number; we keep only the bank's confirmation (order number, status, a masked card number such as 416974******1778, and approval code) to show your payment history.
Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in securely. Local storage keeps small preferences (for example, a dismissed notice) and the anonymous visit identifier described above. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Account and course records are kept while your account exists. Payment records may be kept longer where needed for accounting. Security and throttling records are kept only as long as needed to protect accounts. When an account is deleted, its profile, messages, payments, attendance and recordings are removed.
Security
Access to private information is checked on our servers for every request — not just in the app. Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, administrators can protect their accounts with two-factor authentication, and access to classes is verified for each participant. No online service can promise perfect security; if you notice anything suspicious, contact us.
Your choices
You can update your profile and privacy settings at any time, change your password, log out other devices, and turn on two-factor authentication in Settings. You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account by contacting talkbridgeaz@gmail.com.
Changes
If this policy changes in an important way, we will update this page and the date above.
